We were so lucky in Junior Infants to have been chosen to take part in a very imported project
called CraftEd. As part of the project, our class were linked with an artist and that artist visited the classroom to led some really fantastic art classes with us. Our artist was Melissa MacGillicuddy, and she is a print artist. So over the course of 5 weeks, Melissa showed us how to create some amazing prints using different techniques. We all worked together to create 4 large canvasses (each one representing a different type of water: cold artic water, warm tropical sea, the Irish coast and a pond). We then printed and made different creatures who live in each different type of water. These canvases are going to be mounted and hung in reception for everyone to enjoy. Melissa also brought in her special printing machine, and each child was enabled to create their own printing plate and create their very own unique personal print.
